ACU Archery's team of professional archers and expert engineers are always looking for new ways to innovate and take their products to new heights.

With the all new S.O.S. (Stability Optimization System) Heavy Medal Barebow, archers are now able to directly mount an SOS unit directly to their bow using nothing more than a 5/16″ bolt (included).

The Heavy Medal Barebow has a mathematically engineered and field confirmed wire unit pre-installed that provides the ultimate in stability specifically designed for a compact unit.

The S.O.S. Heavy Medal can be positioned with 360 degrees of adjustability although we recommend setting the unit with wires oriented on a parallel/vertically plane.

The SOS Heavy Medal is a condensed SOS unit built from stainless steel to provide an archer with the an easy to mount, rugged SOS option to provide stability to their aiming pattern.

This unit provides a smaller device footprint to provide the archer with additional mounting locations on their bow.

Understanding and Tuning your SOS Heavy Medal

The SOS Heavy Medal is a mass-tuned damper that when positioned properly, is designed to isolate, collect and dissipate unwanted movement from your sight picture.

We have tested and developed these wire lengths and attachment locations to provide the most responsive unit possible.

The unit is predisposed to have both a stiff and weak axis.  What this means is that the archer will want to adjust the axis orientation to help them where they need it most.

If you see up and down movement, set your weak axis vertical.  If you’re seeing left and right movement, set the weak axis horizontal.

If you’re unsure, test each position and see which is best for you!  Some archers even utilize two units, one set facing each axis, in order to maximize their stability.

For easy use, the weak axis will always be the direction where wire holes are nearest each other on the weight receiver.

Both units are 100% legal for compound, recurve and barebow use in NFAA, ASA, USA Archery and World Archery competition.
