I bought this riser to replace my Winstar 2 and have been shooting it for around Two years now.
I wanted a riser that was of a higher spec and lighter than my previous riser. the colour and paint finish is good with a nice fine metal flake effect which is highlighted in sunlight and drew some positive comments from other club members on its initial outings.
I have managed to chip the paint in a couple of places and this shows the thickness of the painted finish to be better than I thought but then, I did manage to chip it in the first place so it is a little brittle after a couple of years shooting.
The rubberised grip feels extremely good in the hand and the medium grip will suit most archers. It has good vibration characteristics with a nice positive feedback on the release when I paired the riser with SF's own Ultimate carbon limbs. Now, To the only sticking point I have found and that's the weight! The weight is claimed to be light at just 1.180Kg's but on weighing my own riser I discovered that it's much closer to 1.300Kg's with an arrow rest and sight block fitted. These extra items do not add up to the extra 120Grm so this claim was a little disappointing. Performance outweighed this though but if weight is an issue then it may not be the best choice for you.
It has the independent weight and limb alignment adjustment straight off the Win & Win Inno range and all the usual bushings for stabilisers and top and bottom TFC's. as well as two tapped holes for a pressure button and/or arrow rest mounting as well as the usual holes for sight mounting and clicker plus a generous clicker extension plate.
SF claim that weight and tiller are adjustable while the bow is strung but I wouldn't recommend this as the bolts will quickly scratch the finish of the limbs. Limb alignment is adjustable while the bow is strung and is a simple job once the locking screws on the adjusting screws are loosened. These are easily forgotten about and the instruction book must be read to show these in operation. Once mastered they have proved very secure. This riser has help me achieve success, winning my club championship in 2011 and a gold medal at the Bedfordshire county Field championship in the same year.
So if you want a good Intermediate level riser which will win competitions you could do much worse than this but watch out for that weight! (Posted on 30/04/2012)
