Best V-Bar on the market
Didn't buy from Merlin (sorry guys!) BUT... Endlessly adjustable, but solid as a rock once tightened down. As other reviewers have said, would be nice to have lines to mark the angles, but that doesn't take away from sheer quality built into this piece.
Great quality V-bar
Bought this to complement the colour of my Mybo Elite riser, and it does beautifully!
The adjustability is excellent, being in the vertical and horizontal plane, although it would be even better if the v-bar featured clicks to allow for microadjustment. However, using trigonometry, you can adjust very accurately, so it's not completely necessary.
I can think of a few olympians (mostly British) that use these, so don't just rake my word for it!
It is very adjustable, and high quality, almost perfect.
Two things would make it perfect, gradelines for adjusting the angle of the short rods and premounted quick detachments.
Excellent adjustable v bar
Hard wearin, rock solid 360 degree adjustable v bar. Almost too much adjustability. Would have been usedul to have measurement lines, due to the ability adjust to any position, but still good. Locks tight and solid and should last a long while.
Solid as a rock!
In the past I've shot mostly fixed v-bars; I originally had an Easton adjustable one that failed within 3 months and then a few different solid ones. I was finally given a second-hand AGF v-bar that held its position well, but the construction meant that it could be tricky to set up, and it wasn't really built for coping with heavy weights.
This is in a different league... It just feels unbelievably well built - there isn't a single component where quality has been compromised and the taper fit joints allow for very precise adjustments of angles whilst being some of the most solid v-bar joints I've ever seen. When tightened properly the joints are pretty much impossible to move! My only criticism would be of weight - it is a tad heavier than other v-bars but it's only marginal and well worth it to end up with such a quality product.
