Questions and Answers
Q: Many apologies for a stupid question but I am new to archery and wanted to check something
Many pure carbon arrows are not permitted at competitions as they cant be found by a metal detector. However, Carbon 1 arrows are great value for money and would help me get distance. So would these points be detected and thus mean I would be able to find my stray arrows?
Thanks
A: The metal points can be picked up by a metal detector. You are correct, some clubs do not allow the use of pure carbon shafts. But this is an independent decision made by those clubs, so you would need to clarify this with the club you wish to shoot at. Most clubs do allow the use of pure carbon shafted arrows. If you can shoot at a club that does allow it, you will gain an advantage over aluminium arrows of similar price.
