Compact Folding Survival Bow

Recommended Accessories
The patent pending CFSB folding bow, also known as the go primal bow, can be converted from Right hand to left hand, arrow speeds from 155 to 165 feet per second. 40 lbs draw at 26 inches, 45 at 27 and 50 lbs at 28 inches.

The riser for the compact takedown folding survival bow is milled from T-6 6061 aircraft grade aluminum with a built in arrow shelf, and the limbs are made from fiberglass developed specifically for bow limbs. The limbs can be removed to convert bow from right to left hand, replace limbs, or interchange with different draw weight limbs.

Fold the limbs into the side of the handle for transport and it forms its own compact and durable carrying case. It is 23 inches long x 1.5 x 1.5 inches when closed and opened is a total 59" in length.

This traditional bow is a long bow, but it is anything but traditional. The folding bow design, with its aluminum riser and fiberglass bow limbs is built to survive the apocalypse, put food on the table, and it is a must have for a prepper who wants to maximize their space.

Weighing in at 2.25 lbs., it is lightweight and can be carried in or strapped to just about any pack or bug out bag. This collapsible bow is convenient for hunters who want to carry a compact back up weapon to the field. If you are looking for a hunting bow, a take-down bow, or a survival bow this is the collapsible bow for you.

After reading a lot of reviews I thoughtI would not the bullet and finally buy this bow. All I can say is wow, no bells or whistles just an amazingly good bow (that good I have just brought another). Easy draw even with the 55-60# limbs. Just a side note, don't use wooden arrows with this bow, they really don't last long lol.

Well made, fun.

Fun bow, nice size, seems to be well made and put together. Very quiet without any accessories, nice thick string you can shoot without finger guards, smooth to shoot.

I'm not as accurate as I am with a recurve, but it's fun to shoot with all the same. Otherwise, the soft stuff on the arrow rest comes off after a few uses, but it shoots fine without it.

Very pleased

I brought this bow based on good reviews and generally admiring the design and simplicity of this bow.
Having only recently taken up bare-bow archery I needed something lighter then my recurve, and less faff to set up. This bow certainly does not disappoint in that department!
To shoot, this bow is quite forgiving, once you have feather fletched arrows with the correct spine. I'm using Easton aluminium arrows, which aren't ideal, but they fly well and I'm hitting consistent reds and golds at 40m.
The bow is extremely solid and well built, it feels good in the hand, produces a lovely deep thud sound on release, and I'm not noticing much more hand shock in comparison to my recurve bow, although some reviewers have stated this.
So far, I've shot around close to 1000 arrows, and it's getting better each time. My scores are better, my enjoyment levels have increased, and this bow has massively exceeded my expectations.
Due to the design of the limbs, this bow is known to stack, but I haven't had any problems. I pull 29.5 inches, which puts this over 40lbs, but I don't feel any more fatigued after a 3 hour shoot then I did with my 35lb recurve. In fact, due to the lighter weight, I'm finding it easier! My 12 year old also can shoot it easily and he pulls 26 inches.
To summarise, this bow is incredible value. It shoots very well, sounds and feels great, and my whole kit now fits in an arrow tube.
Thank you Merlin for stocking this bow!
Review by A very happy customer
outstanding for the £
(Posted on 10/04/2016)
I bought 2 of these and a bit of a novel gift for me and a mate, comparing it to my normal bows (80lb long bow an a 50lb recurve field bow) its really impressive! I did not expect it to shoot how it does, for the money, and for the fact its a bit quirky in how it folds, the engineering is superb, with the cheep timber creek arrows its a monster, great smooth draw, feel is ok, there are vibrations but nothing that can't be dealt with using the correct hold. All in all regardless of its unique selling points its a great bow!!!!!!!!! I am very very impressed all things considered I would expect to pay double. ( why I bought 2)
Down sides.. the arrow rest dots are poor. I replaced them with some velcro and its improved massively, also I feel that the string nocks are too angular, they need to be more rounded to reduce hot spots on the string loops .
Never the less i recommend this bow 99% its fantastic!

Nice bow for compact travel or for a change from the ordinary

The bow is very compact, will fit in an arrow tube with six arrows, and feels very sturdy; practically indestructible, in fact.

The bow shoots well with correctly spined arrows. I am using the 40# limbs, and I would go for something like a 400 spine carbon arrow, or maybe a 2314 x7. You will need arrows with feathers, not vanes: there is a shelf cut into the bow, but nowhere to mount an arrow rest. The string it came with had quite a thick serving, so I had to widen my nocks (Easton super nocks) using hot water.

Cast is pretty fast: this bow is short and that helps deliver speed. I shoot instinctively and it suits that style well. It seems relatively easy to hit the wrist/forearm with the string whilst using the bow, and there is no contoured grip. In fact, the grip feels a little slippy and cold, as it is a straight piece of metal, which also delivers a little handshock. I taped on some shock-absorbing bicycle grip tape to mine and am enjoying shooting it a lot more now.

I absolutely love this bow, easy to setup and great off the shelf performance. I purchased the 60lb version (though not sure it is a full 60lb, possibly 55lb) and whilst initially I found it a bit of a strain, as I probably over bowed myself, within a little time I was using it with relative ease and comfort and getting some great groupings at upto 30yds. The Velcro tabs/dots for the arrow rest / plate wear quite quickly particularly if you don't use feather fletchings (would recommend only really using feathers to be honest), but these can be replaced with normal Velcro (just the loop or female kind) and I found that cutting this into strips is an improvement on the small tabs/dots supplied. I also purchased the case which Is a good fit for the bow plus 3 takedown arrows but it doesn't have much additional room for a huge amount else. The takedown arrows are nice but a little pricey in my opinion. Overall I love the bow and whilst it may be deemed gimmicky or quirky by some, I think it's a great design that actually works, thank you for stocking it Merlin and thank you also for the great advice and customer service.

I’ve shot this bow almost every day since I bought it and I love it. It’s fun to shoot.

I have it in 40/45 # . I’ll order some 55# limbs from Primal Gear since Merlin doesn’t sell replacement limbs.

Must have bow!
(Posted on 20/09/2014)
Regardless of what kind of archery you do you have to get one of these! The quality of the kit and the performance is superb. I purchased the 40 pound bow but the makers Primal Gear also produce 50 and 55 pound limbs which can be easily fitted. Checkout the the US website. Well done Merlin for stocking it.

One great bow

I like the simplicity ingenuity of this bow, it's very tough and dependable. I recommend Victory V 400 spine feather fletched arrows, they shoot extremely well with this bow.

I ordered the 40lb limbs because I knew I wouldn't be able to put this bow down. I have the option of 50 and 55 lb limbs for the future

I think it's a great price and would recommend it to all.

this is quite a unique bow , it is fun and practical .
it shoots well with reasonable speed . Only slight gripe is at long draw lengths , over 30 inch , it does stack a lot quickly . no other gripes - it is a nice basic bow to keep in the car or caravan .
